Rain in the High Peaks
Acrylic on canvas | 40x40cm | 🔴
There is an enforced mindfulness when hiking in heavy rain, you have to focus on the next step. There are magical moments too, with ethereal light and delight in being totally encapsulated by nature. This piece embodies all of the aspects of a rainy English trudge in the Peak District.
Moonlit
Acrylic on canvas | 40x40cm | 🔴
This started out about the disconcerting feeling of crossing stepping stones in Dovedale in the Peak District. Whilst painting it melded into a memory I have of the same trip of a night time walk. The energy and calm of these memories combine to create this complex painting of beautiful blues and greens finished with details of gold.
Blaze
Acrylic on canvas board | 12x16in | 🔴
This striking dystopian orange dreamscape was created intuitively on a day when I was bursting with energy. It captures warmth as well as desolation in an industrial cityscape.
